Opco to take first step on tuning
Persiankhodro: Why domestic automakers dosn`t have impressive activity in supplying tuning equipment and cars not yet? And what`s constraints in this section?
IranKhodro Customized Automotive Production Company (OPCO) is about 2 years that has entered officially into the market of tuning equipment and tuned cars; off course before IKCO itself did it directly. Our opinion in the way focus on standards rather than rapid enters to the market. Quality is more important than quantity.
Automakers standards in the field of tuning and option are consider as high level`s but Opco is benchmarking from its parent IranKhodro and try to follow its standards and measures.
Maybe our productions are not so much to discuss but main parts of out activity spends on quality measures, for example, if you install an alarm on your vehicle, seller is not responsible about its fault, our advantage circle around our guarantees. This is that to take our time and costs and we are engaged in it.
Variation of services asked from us is five times more than our capacity and we withdraw more of them just because of quality matters.
Why Opco dosn`t produce a sport car for young who are struggle to drive such car?
The main company produce its models on base standards to supply maximum range of demand and that`s tuners to equip common cars sport.
We plan to launch market sport Samand (National car) next year to cover parts of demands. Our plan also includes Peugeot 206.
Samand sayana`s project has been finalized, and also more designs for some vehicles like Tondar (L90) and Samand get ready to launch with permission of Standard institute, Police and automakers.
From which country the installed parts would be supplied?
Most of parts import from France and Taiwan but some of part also would produce inside.
Do Opco present its services abroad?
Last year, first series of our production was exported to Syria, installing on IKCO`s production in other countries till 2012. Our equipment will also be export to Tajikistan and Belarus.
It seems that engine in a vehicle is the most important part to tune, isn`t it? In this respect, how Opco define its activities?
We are to finalize a contract with a German tuner who suggest to start from light tuning at the first step beginning from ECU, coming to Iran nest weeks to make change over Peugeot`s engine.
